Energy-boosting Superfoods

What superfoods improve energy?

There are plenty of energy-boosting superfoods out there that can help improve your everyday. Here are 10 of the best:

Chia Seeds

Chia seeds are another mighty source of energy. Did you know that just a handful of chia seeds contains omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, protein, calcium, and magnesium? All of these nutrients work together to boost your energy levels and keep you feeling nourished.

I love eating chia pudding for breakfast or add the seeds to a smoothie. For healthy snacking try adding them to homemade energy bars or snacks. Delish!

Sprouts

Alfalfa sprouts are a powerhouse of nutrients, full of vitamins A, C, and K. They are a great source of protein and fiber and they contain phytochemicals with anti-cancer properties. I love putting them in my salads, sandwiches, or wraps. You can cook the sprouts, but to maximize their nutritional value, I actually prefer to eat them raw.

Spirulina

The blue-green Spirulina Powder is high in protein and essential amino acids, making it an excellent choice for vegetarians and vegans. It contains A, B1, B2, B6, and E, as well as iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium, and calcium.

Studies have shown that spirulina can help boost energy levels, improve exercise performance, and reduce fatigue. It can also improve brain function and protect against cognitive decline. I enjoy adding Blue Majik to my morning smoothie. Additionally, it’s available as tablets at most health food stores.

Matcha Green Tea

Matcha Green Tea is one of the most popular superfoods for energy. It is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. The leaves are ground into a fine powder and then whisked with water to create a frothy beverage.

Matcha has been consumed in China and Japan for centuries and is now gaining popularity in the West. It is rich in antioxidants, which can help protect your cells from damage. It contains less caffeine than coffee, so it won’t make you feel jittery or anxious.

In addition to its energy-boosting effects, matcha green tea has also boosts metabolism, lower cholesterol, and improve cognitive function. In case you can not get over its specific favor (like I do), there are different options on the market. Green Matcha with Banana for example.

In addition, they can boost energy levels and improve circulation. If you’re looking for an instant energy-boosting superfood, goji berries are a great option to add to your snack cabinet.

Agaptogens: Reishi & Lion’s Mane

Agaptogens are substances that help the body to adapt to stressors and promote healthy energy production. Reishi and lion’s mane mushrooms are two of them.

Reishi mushrooms have been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine to help improve energy and vitality. These mushrooms are a rich source of antioxidants and polysaccharides, which are believed to contribute to their health-promoting effects. Additionally, animal studies have shown that reishi mushrooms can help increase levels of ATP, the energy molecule that powers our cells.

Maca powder boosts energy levels, as it is a rich source of nutrients including iron, magnesium, and zinc.

Maca Powder

Maca powder comes from the maca root, which is native to the Andes mountains in South America. Indigenous people of the region use the root to increase energy and stamina.
